Work Progress Updates

 

Construction of the Capital wind farm is complete. The wind farm became operational in October 2009.

 

Key developments to date include:

  • All major deliveries to site complete   
  • Geotechnical works complete
  • Construction of access roads, hardstands and foundations complete 
  • Civil rehabilitation works in progress 
  • 67 Foundations excavated
  • 67 Hardstands complete
  • 67 Wind Turbine foundations poured
  • 67 foundations Post-tensioned
  • Underground cabling  and overhead lines are complete
  • Substation civil work and Substation electrical installation work completed
  • 67 turbines erected and pre-commissioned
  • Substation energised

 

Generator and Gearbox Works:

Capital Wind Farm has requested out-of-hours works approval for urgent Gearbox and Generator works. Approval has been granted by the NSW Department of Planning - Approval Reference Number S04/01018-7. Outside of hours works are permitted to take place from 3 December - 15 December 2009.

RPV will endeavour to ensure all works, where possible, take place within normal working hours. However, should weather not permit these works to take place, it will be necessary for RPV to work outside of normal working hours. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Additional Works WTG 62:

Capital Wind Farm has requested out-of-hours works approval for urgent Gearbox and Generator works. Approval has been granted by the NSW Department of Planning - Approval Reference Number S04/01018-7.

Outside of hours works are permitted to take place for T62 till 1900hrs each night.

RPV will endeavour to ensure all works, where possible, take place within normal working hours. However, should weather not permit these works to take place, it will be necessary for RPV to work outside of normal working hours. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Storage of additional turbines:

Twenty additional Wind Turbine Generators will be delivered to the CWF site for long term storage. Transport of these components will commence the week beginning 4 January 2010 and should be completed by early February 2010.

Noise Compliance:

An operational noise compliance assessment program will commence from 4 February 2010 in accordance with the plan approved by the Department of Planning. The plan involves several stages and results will be reported to the Department on completion.

Landscaping Plans:

Distribution of Off Site Landscape Plans to neighbours to the wind farm site has commenced. The landscape planning team will review the plans with the respective landowners to obtain agreement to the plans for subsequent implementation.

Additional Works WTG 6:

Capital Wind Farm has requested out-of-hours works approval for urgent rotor works. Approval has been granted by the NSW Department of Planning - Approval Reference Number 10/02071.

Outside of hours works are permitted to take place for T6 till 2030hrs on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of March 2010.

RPV will endeavour to ensure all works, where possible, take place within normal working hours.
